Selection of Hospitality Projects by Lodes:

Hartwell Innovation District is a new laboratory and office building in Lexington (MA, USA), designed by the architecture and design firm DiMella Shaffer. Conceived to offer flexible, tenant-ready spaces while maintaining a strong architectural identity, the project features interiors that echo the faceted and curved geometry of the façade through bespoke elements such as casework, acoustic panels, and graphic patterns. Volum pendant was selected for its minimalist aesthetic and the flexibility of the collection, with different sizes and configurations allowing the designers to maintain visual consistency while adapting to the various functions throughout the building. The lighting was conceived to define the atmosphere both during the day and at night: after dark, the illuminated spheres appear to float within the space, while the building itself becomes a glowing lantern visible from the outside, reinforcing its architectural character. SPA Hotel Erzherzog Johann, a wellness hotel in Bad Aussee (Austria), combines calmness, warmth, and elegance to offer guests a relaxing and immersive experience. Designed by Kitzberger Hotel & Gastrodesign, the outdoor lighting scheme plays a key role in enhancing the atmosphere of the new spa area. Kinno outdoor luminaires were installed along the pathways surrounding the pool, providing safe and discreet illumination while guiding guests towards the wellness facilities. The product was selected for its organic design, which blends naturally into the landscape and complements the architecture of the resort. Particular attention was given to directing the light downwards to minimize light pollution and reduce the impact on the surrounding natural environment. (photo : Günter Standl Fotografie)

Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz, located on the island of Gozo (Malta), underwent a complete redesign of its lobby as part of a five-year renovation programme. Developed by the Scandinavian hospitality design studio Living Design, the project was conceived to create a memorable arrival experience while preserving the hotel’s identity and connection to local tradition. Lodes was commissioned to develop a bespoke lighting installation beneath the lobby’s circular skylight. The result is a striking hemispherical composition made up of 868 A-Tube Nano pendants, creating a dynamic interplay between natural and artificial light while allowing daylight to continue filtering through the glass dome. To support the installation, Lodes designed and engineered a custom conical metal canopy composed of 20 rings, integrating the drivers within the structure. The company provided design consultancy, engineering, on-site installation support, and a dedicated maintenance solution, completing the installation in just three days.
